Calling a cell phone number is exactly the same as calling any other number. You simply need to dial in the full international format beginning with a + (Plus sign), then the country code and add the phone number.

Example:  To call the Canadian mobile number from your Global SIM:  604-259-1641 you would dial:  +1-604-259-1641

Note: If you find that you are dialling correctly but still cannot make a call, try replacing the + with a * and adding a # at the end.

Example:  *1-604-259-1641#

Calling a landline number is exactly the same as calling any other number. You simply need to dial in the full international format beginning with a + (Plus sign), then the country code, followed by an area code (if applicable), then add the phone number.

Example:  To call the Canadian landline number from your Global SIM:  416-XXX-XXXX you would dial:  +1-416-XXX-XXXX

Note: If you find that you are dialling correctly but still cannot make a call, try replacing the + with a * and adding a # at the end.

Example:  *1-416-XXX-XXXX #

Your Global SIM will work like any other international and long distance number.

To call an international number from a cell phone:

Enter ‘+’ (plus sign) then enter the Flight Centre Global SIM number starting with 44

Example: From any cell phone dial: +44 XXX XXX XXXX

Note:  The + sign is recognised by all networks in the world as the universal exit code for cell phones.

To call the Flight Centre Global SIM directly from a landline:

Start with entering the international exit code for the country you are in, for Canada this is 011 then enter the full Flight Centre Global SIM number

Example: To call a Flight Centre Global SIM from a Canadian landline dial: 011 44 XXX XXX XXXX

Always dial the full international number, regardless of where you are.

Step 1. Dial the number you wish to call in full international format.

Calling a Canadian cell 604-259-1641

Add + then country code then the number you wish to call

Dial on your Flight Centre Global SIM +1-604-259-1641

Step 2. Press the call button

Step 3. In a few seconds your phone will ring

Step 4. Answer this call

Step 5. You will hear “Please wait while we connect your call.” Please wait until your call is connected.

Hint:  When dialling both locally and internationally remember to dial the full international format for all numbers.

Alternate dialling method if above fails

If you find that you are dialling correctly but still cannot make a call, please try replacing the + with a * and adding a # at the end.

For example to call the Canadian number 604-259-1641 you would then dial *1-604-259-1641#

If the problem persists, this may be due to the network coverage in the area you are in. Click here for instructions on how to manually switch your network.

Always dial the full international number, regardless of where you are. This means that even though you are in the same country as the person you are trying to reach, you should still enter their phone number in the international format beginning with a + and entering the country code. You can view a full country code list here.

If you are experiencing difficulty making calls, you may be dialling incorrectly or you may be on an unsupported network.

Step 1. You should first check that you are dialling correctly.

To call from your Flight Centre Global SIM, you need to call in the full international format. This means you need to call with a + then country code then the number.

If you find that you are dialling correctly but still cannot make a call, try replacing the + with a * and adding a # at the end.

People calling you on your Flight Centre Global SIM will be charged for a long distance call. It will vary on the carrier and agreements the person has with their provider. If you have activated a U.S. number they will be charged for calling the United States. If you have not activated a U.S. number, they will be charged for a call to the UK. If you are expecting your friends and family to call you while you are abroad, you can login online and activate a Local Number to alleviate these costs.

A Local Number will allow your friends, family and colleagues to contact you on a local Canadian number instead of your Flight Centre Global SIM phone number. This means they will be charged at a local rate.
